CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: Amid the confusion on the processing of the compensation for damages over a recent massive oil spill brought by the sinking of an oil tanker in Mindoro waters, a town mayor here said she is pursuing the filing of a criminal and administrative complaint against the owner of the oil tanker despite the suggestion of the governor not to file charges.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Pola Mayor Jennifer 'Ina Alegre' Cruz told The Manila Times that she had forwarded their complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation and it is up to the agency when and where to file the lawsuit.
