VICE President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte blasted the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT Teachers) over its call to hire 30,000 public school teachers and allocate a budget of P100 billion per year for classrooms, calling these proposals "unrealistic and impossible."
The ACT Teachers said in a statement that to resolve the teacher shortage, the Department of Education (DepEd) should hire at least 30,000 teachers up to 2028 and aim to decrease the class size to 35 students.
