CHANGES in this globalized world have forced us into a VUCA world. Globalized means that the world is more 'connected and interdependent through the spread and integration of economic, social and cultural aspects.' Driving this increasing pace of change, the sudden, sporadic, rapid, drastic and turbulent nature of change which shoves us into an uncertain future are the emerging forms of technology. Universities are compelled to make the best of these 'emerging technologies' — 'too daunting to learn'; 'too intimidating to implement.' In adjusting to this globalized environment, universities are compelled to 'develop the capacity to adapt and modify the new models of knowledge, information and change.'
