PH hopes to reduce child malnutrition through WB loan

THE Philippine government hopes to reduce malnutrition among Filipino children by 'as much as 8 percent' through a project that would be funded by the World Bank (WB), a Health official said on Wednesday.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, officer-in-charge of the Department of Health (DOH), issued the statement after the government launched the Philippine Multi-sectoral Nutrition Project (PMNP), a P10 billion program which aims to address the worsening malnutrition in the Philippines.
