Number coding suspended for Holy Week

THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Tuesday the temporary suspension of the expanded number coding scheme, or the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), in view of the observance of Holy Week.

The traffic scheme will be suspended from April 6, Maundy Thursday, to April 10.

The MMDA enforces the number coding on select major roads in the metropolis on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and continues until Easter Sunday. It celebrates the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
