A reduction in bank reserve requirements could take a bit more time because inflation remains high, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe Medalla said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of a Chamber of Thrift Banks membership meeting, Medalla said that inflation hitting a 14-year high of 8.7 percent in January had changed the "calculus" for monetary authorities.
