THE Travel Tour Expo has been an established brand in the industry for the past three decades.
Every year, travel enthusiasts anticipate the staging of the event and every year it never failed to attract good crowds. This year was no exception.
A good metric in measuring the success of an event is attendance. Based on
official figures, the Travel Tour Expo 2023 got a foot traffic of 91,300 for the three-day event on Feb. 3 to 5 as compared to last year's attendance of 38,821.
This is more than 100 percent improvement from last year and even better than the 2020
Travel Tour Expo foot traffic of 68,429, the last Travel Tour Expo before lockdowns were imposed.
On top of the impressive attendance, this year's edition also attracted almost 300 participating exhibitors and 700 booths that offered a variety of travel-related products and services to the public.
Besides bargain hunting, attendees were treated to lots of entertainment shows from exhibitor's or sponsor's presentations and cultural show competition.
Celebrities also graced the event, such as Iñigo Pascual, Gabbi Garcia, Rodjun Cruz and P-pop groups G22 and VXON for meet-and-greet with their fans.
On the last day, winners of the booth competition were announced. Most Popular Booth Award was Korea Tourism Organization; Most Interesting Booth was Taiwan Tourism Bureau; Best Decorated was Hong Kong Tourism Board and The Most Unique Booth was Travel Warehouse.
Booth with Best Deals went to Rajah Travel Corporation;Travel Expo Theme Award was won by Tourism Promotions Board (TPB); Spirit of Asia went to Tourism Malaysia; Special Award (Regional Category) Champion was Region 8, 1st Runner Up was DoT Mimaropa and 2nd Runner Up was Bitatoa.
