The redemption period after the foreclosure of real estate mortgage by a bank

Dear PAO,

A friend of mine mortgaged his real estate as security for a loan he obtained from a bank. I was told that he failed to pay his loan. As such, his real estate was sold at a foreclosure sale by the bank. As one of his concerned friends who is already like a family, we are contemplating on helping him redeem his home. In this connection, we hope to know how long is the so called 'redemption period' given to him by law in order to redeem his property? This is to determine whether we have enough time to realistically fund the needed amount.
