R&D hub improves bamboo quality

TO boost research and development (R&D) in the bamboo industry, the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), in collaboration with the Isabela State University, has officially launched the first Bamboo Textile Fiber Innovation Hub (BTFIH) in Northern Luzon, funding it through the DoST grants-in-aid program.

The DoST Cagayan Valley, headed by Director Dr. Virginia Bilgera, noted that one of the purposes of the innovation hub is to consolidate the R&D efforts on bamboo for textiles, ensuring quality and responsibility.
