Senate approves bill institutionalizing OTOP

SEN. Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go lauded the continuing efforts to address the economic impact of the pandemic on ordinary Filipinos and help local communities recover, one of which is to institutionalize the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines Program that was approved by the Senate on the third and final reading on Monday, March 20.

Senate Bill (SB) 1594, which was authored and co-sponsored by Go, aims to institutionalize OTOP for it to serve as a stimulus program to encourage the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the utilization of indigenous raw materials, local traditions and cultures across the country.
