THE government and a non-profit organization continue to scale up a model to integrate school gardening, supplementary feeding and nutrition education to address the challenges in agrobiodiversity and food and nutrition security.
Involved in the scaling up initiative are the Department of Education (DepEd), Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology and the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) that jointly developed the Integrated School Nutrition Model (ISNM) that was supported by a two-phase action research project funded by the International Development Research Center.
