CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, City of Malolos, Bulacan: After several months of hiding from authorities, the most wanted person in Malolos City has been arrested in Batac City, Ilocos Norte on Tuesday, March 21. LtCol. Andrei Anthony Manglo, acting chief of Malolos Police, said the arrested suspect was identified as Larry Cantong Jr., 19 years old. He currently works as a farmer in Ilocos Norte. Cantong was arrested by virtue of a warrant for homicide issued by presiding judge Mylene Cabigao Albaytar-Avendaño of the Third Judicial Region Regional Trial Court, Branch 83, Malolos City, Bulacan dated Dec. 20, 2022, with the recommended bail of P120,000. The suspect is accused of hacking to death a 59-year-old victim identified as Reynaldo Paraiso on Oct. 6, 2022. 'The apprehension of the top one MWP (most wanted person) in the city level of Malolos City is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Bulacan PNP to serve justice to the victim's family,' Bulacan PNP Provincial Director Col. Relly Arnedo said. Arnedo added that the tireless efforts of the Malolos CPS tracker team in pursuing and capturing the accused show the effectiveness of the Bulacan PNP's crime solution strategies.
