THE Commission on Human Rights (CHR) has expressed alarm over recent incidents of violence against women and children (VAWC), saying that "violence, in whatever form, is never acceptable."
In a statement, the CHR said that beyond the serious consequences inflicted upon those directly affected, the culture of fear and insecurity arising from violent incidents also impacts communities. It highlighted the government's role in protecting the rights of all, including the rights to life, liberty and security.
