THE National Water Resources Board (NWRB) on Monday is preparing for the possible effects of the El Niño phenomenon that may be felt in the second half of the year, NWRB Executive Director Sevillano David Jr. said on Monday.

"For now, we have an ample supply of water, but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has predicted the coming of the El Niño phenomenon, which will result in fewer rains. So, we need to prepare for this so that it will not affect our water supply," David said at the Laging Handa briefing.
