THE Japanese dynamic positioning vessel (DPV) Shin Nichi Maru arrived in Calapan on Monday carrying a remotely operated vehicle with the ability to detect the sunken tanker that caused the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro.
The Shin Nichi Maru will augment the search for the MT Princess Empress and help stop the leakage of 800,000 liters of industrial fuel that it was carrying when it capsized on Feb. 28.
