THE anti-insurgency task force of the government has expressed its opposition to House Bill (HB) 77, otherwise known as the "Human Rights Defenders' Protection Act" (HRDPA).
In a statement issued on Monday, the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-Elcac) Legal Cooperation Cluster said the approval of HB 77 by the House Committee on Human Rights in the House of Representatives on February 28 is a "grave, vicious, and insidious threat against the Philippines's democratic way of life."
