I met a lot of people who became my acquaintances and longtime friends who gave me important leads where to discover the hidden job market even if I was not interested in job hopping. It was a pleasant problem that made it difficult for me to decline invites from well-meaning friends who gave me heads up long before the vacancies were advertised.
After all, why spend good money on job ads when word-of-mouth is much better? To put a meaningful context into this, another good question should be asked: Why advertise job ads that attract unhappy workers rather than contended people in their current jobs?
