Ex-policeman gets 40 years for killing teens

A Navotas City trial court judge has found a former policeman guilty of murder in connection with the death of two teenagers at the height of the anti-drug war of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Judge Romana Lindayag-Del Rosario of Regional Trial Court Branch 287 sentenced former police officer Jeffrey Sumbo Perez to reclusion perpetua or up to 40 years imprisonment for killing teenagers Carl Angelo Arnaiz and Reynaldo 'Kulot' de Guzman in August 2017.
