THE city government of San Fernando in La Union took a bomb threat seriously on Friday and kept a close watch at the Miss Gay City of San Fernando 2023 event.
In a statement by the LGU on Friday, a certain Britney Madonna Kepya posted a bomb threat on a Facebook account.
'It has come to the attention of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union that a person in the name of Britney Madonna Kepya has posted a bomb threat on her Facebook account regarding tonight's event, the Miss Gay City of San Fernando 2023,' the city wrote. 'However, we would like to assure the public that with the strict security policy in place, no bomb or any device was found, and this threat is considered a hoax.'
The City of San Fernando said they will take legal action against the account.
'This threat is taken as a serious offense and the City Government will take legal action against Britney Madonna Kepya or the person behind the account who posted such a threat online,' the statement wrote. 'We are currently coordinating with the Philippine National Police to trace the Facebook account, to locate his or her whereabouts, and take the next measures on this matter.'
An individual on Saturday took to Facebook via the page Ta Hurn's Daily Connection and denied in a 37-second video that he is Kepya.
'We value the safety and security of our kakabsat in the City and we will not let anyone bring danger to anyone at any event or activity that will happen here in #SanFernandoTayo!' the statement concluded.
Joby Balanza won the Miss Gay City of San Fernando 2023 on Friday, besting 20 other candidates.
