Compensate comfort women, govt urged

THE government was urged to compensate Filipino women who were sexually abused by Japanese soldiers during World War 2.

Lawyer Harry Roque Jr. issued the call as he welcomed the decision of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (Cedaw) calling on the Philippines to provide full reparation for the women.
