Panel tackles environmental health threats

THE Department of Health (DoH) again convened the Inter-Agency Committee on Environmental Health (IACEH) to discuss ways to strengthen measures to address current and emerging environmental issues that affect public health and safety.

This comes in the light of recent environmental events such as the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro and the diarrhea reported in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental. During the meeting led by DoH Officer in Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire, the committee highlighted Department Circular 2023-0093 issued by the health department on the guidance for responders and volunteers on the use of personal protective equipment for oil spill response.
