THE International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 of every year in many countries, including Afghanistan, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Georgia, Germany, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lao PDR, Madagascar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal, the Philippines, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Zambia. While it is not a public holiday in Australia, Cameroon, Croatia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Vietnam, and Chile, IWD is widely observed, nonetheless. (Wikipedia)
