BLOOD is made up of liquid and solids. The liquid part – over one-half of it – is called plasma and made up of water, salt and protein. The solid part contains red and white blood cells as well as platelets. The red blood cells (RBC) deliver oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and organs of the living body.
