ANAKALUSUGAN party-list Rep. Ray Florence Reyes voiced alarm about the data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that indicated 1.37 million children ages 5 to 17 were working in 2021, a number that was greater than the 872,333 children of the same age who were working in 2020.
"The half-a-million jump in the number of child laborers in the country from 2020 should be raising red flags. This is unacceptable," Reyes said.
