THE past week saw tumult from the public transport sector, particularly from jeepney drivers, because of the memo from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) establishing a deadline for jeepney drivers to join a cooperative in order to keep their franchises.
To be clear, the cooperative is aimed not only at creating a system for modernizing/replacing dilapidated and worn-out jeepneys, but also to create a logical route system for the country's public transportation.
