NEW YORK CITY: Rafael Viñoly, a Uruguayan-born and New York-based architect known for designing landmark buildings around the world, has died, his family announced last Friday. He was 78.
Viñoly's death last Thursday — reportedly of an aneurysm at a hospital in New York — was announced by his son Roman on the website of the family firm, Rafael Viñoly Architects.
