Congressman wants 'redundant' MMDA abolished

MANILA Third District Rep. Joel Chua said the government is wasting billions of taxpayers' money on the continued operation of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) which is 'duplicating the functions and responsibilities of several national and local government agencies.'

'It is my belief that the MMDA is just a redundancy to the other national and local agencies' function, so we are just wasting billions and billions of pesos with this government,' he said in a video interview with The Manila Times.
