14 drug suspects nabbed in Region 3

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga: A series of anti-illegal drugs operations by the police in Olongapo City and Bulacan province resulted in the arrest of 14 suspects and the recovery of P630,000 worth of suspected shabu on Thursday.

Region 3 (Central Luzon) police director BGen. Jose Hidalgo Jr. said that joint operatives from different units of Olongapo City Police conducted an operation at 12:45 a.m. in front of Metro Subic College School in Barangay East Bajac-Bajac, leading to the arrest of four individuals.

The police identified the arrested drug suspects as John Manlangit, Jonathan Pacaco, Arnold Ponciano and Jayson Villagracia.

A total of 71.1 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of more than P487,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

In Bulacan, Col. Relly Arnedo, provincial director of Bulacan PNP, said that a series of anti-illegal drug operations by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit from Plaridel, Pandi, Bocaue, Norzagaray, Malolos and Guiguinto led to the arrest of 10 drug personalities.

Arnedo said that they recovered from the arrested suspects 19 sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P130,000 and one black bag containing dried marijuana leaves.

The arrested suspects and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for further examination, while criminal complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 are now being prepared for filing in court.

Hidalgo said that more anti-drug operations will be launched in the coming days as the police force in Central Luzon has vowed to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs.
