Certified seed distribution expanded

THE Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) has expanded its inbred rice seeds program from 42 to 77 provinces as part of the government's effort to boost the country's palay (unmilled rice) production.

According to PhilRice, an agency under the Department of Agriculture (DA), at least 4.27 million bags of certified inbred rice seeds will be distributed in all rice-producing regions in the country.
