LIVESAVING aid is needed to help millions of people enduring one of the longest and most severe droughts on record in the Horn of Africa, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Tuesday, as the region enters its sixth straight rainy season with no rain.
In Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya, more than 8 million people need food assistance and about 332,000 "urgently need food," as "their lives are at risk," UNHCR spokesman Olga Sarrado said.
