Mindoro rivers in critical level

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro: The water levels in three river systems in the province have breached the above normal level because of the torrential rain brought by the northeast monsoon, the Provincial Disaster Risk Response and Management Office (PDRRMO) said on Tuesday, February 28.

In a social media post, the PDRRMO identified the river systems as the Mag-Asawang Tubig in Naujan town, the Panggalaan River in Calapan City and the Alag River in Baco town.

The rivers of Bucayao and Longos in this city are also nearing critical water level.

Classes were suspended in four schools in Naujan, namely Naujan Municipal High School, Mariano Leuterio Memorial School, Santiago Elementary School and Agustin Gutierrez Memorial Academy.

However, classes in Baco resumed on Tuesday after Mayor Allan Roldan declared the suspension of classes on Monday.
