Meralco proves steady in the end, nips Magnolia

Meralco hung touch in the endgame to hack out a nail biting 86-84 win and put to end Magnolia Chicken Timplados' four-game win streak in the 2022-23 PBA Governors' Cup on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import KJ McDaniels and Chris Newsome combined for four free throws down the stretch as Meralco nosed out Magnolia, which led, 84-82 on a driving layup by Calvin Abueva, heading to the final 1:25 mark of the game.
