(UPDATE) FILIPINO top fencer Samantha Catantan has accomplished a lot of things for the Philippines in her sport.
She won a gold medal in the Asian juniors championship, ruled women's individual foil 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam, and has the distinction of being the first "homegrown" talent to earn an athletic scholarship in the Division 1 school in the US NCAA with Penn State University.
