LUCENA CITY: A drug suspect shot and wounded two police officers in a buy-bust gone wrong Friday night in this city. Police report narrated that joint personnel of the Quezon Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) and Lucena DEU led by Maj. Mendel Casao conducted an anti-illegal drug operation against the suspect, Gerald Diadesma, 33, jobless and resident of Purok Atis, Barangay Mayao Crossing of this city and a high-value individual (HVI). The operation occurred in Dalahican Road, Purok Little Baguio, Barangay Ibabang Dupay where the suspect sold to a poseur-buyer one piece of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu. Diadesma, realizing he was set up, tried to escape and fired at the arresting police officers, wounding SSg. Arnel Buemia on his right chest and SSg. Donald Bulaklak on his left knee. The two wounded cops retaliated, but the suspect escaped, was later arrested, and brought to the hospital for a gunshot wound. The wounded police officers were rushed to a nearby hospital, presently in stable condition. Confiscated items from the suspect include the P16,000 buy-bust money, a black wallet containing eight pieces of a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, and one unit of Motorcycle Rusi black without a plate number. Police said the suspected shabu confiscated weighs approximately 13 grams with an estimated street value of P265,200.
