Bong Go inspects newly built bridge

SEN. Christopher Lawrence 'Bong' Go on Thursday conducted an inspection of the newly constructed Santo Domingo-Aliaga Road and Bridge in Nueva Ecija.

The construction of the 2.2-kilometer road and 90.8-meter bridge that connect Barangay Dolores in Santo Domingo and Barangay San Carlos in Aliaga was funded with the support of Go as vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, in coordination with the local government, former district representative Estrellita Suansing, and the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Go said it is anticipated that these projects will have several positive effects, including promoting economic growth in the local area, improving the safe and prompt transportation of agricultural products to market hubs, and enhancing public access to comfortable travel options and quicker social and health care services.

'These projects are important in ensuring a comfortable and safe mode of transportation for the people of Nueva Ecija,' cited Go.

'The government investment in these infrastructure projects will be of big help in improving the life of the people in the province and in the growth of the economy in the region,' he added.

He vowed to prioritize the welfare of poor Filipinos when pushing for measures and projects in the Senate.

The travel time between the towns has been significantly reduced due to the newly constructed bridge, which connects barangays in just ten minutes, avoiding common traffic bottlenecks on the Sicsican-Santo Domingo Road and the section of Maharlika Highway near Talavera's business district.

Additionally, motorists traveling from Santo Domingo can now reach Aliaga in just 20 minutes, compared to the previous hour-long journey, as there is no longer a need to traverse the Sicsican-Santo Domingo Road, Maharlika Highway, and La Torre-Bibiclat Road to reach Barangay San Carlos in Aliaga.

On the same day, Go conducted an inspection of the Super Health Center being built in the town of Rizal in Nueva Ecija, where he distributed assistance to the town's residents.

Similarly, he inspected the progress of the Super Health Center in Santo Domingo, where he also aided struggling residents.
