VP Sara joins Fraternal Order of Eagles

VICE President Sara Duterte took her oath as a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and thanked the group as the government's counterpart in bringing social change to communities.

The order, which was founded in 1979, is a civic organization that is founded on the concept of Service through Strong Brotherhood as a guiding principle.

In her speech during the induction of new club members at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City, Duterte said that the fraternity has 'upheld the principle of strong sense of family and community through service.'

'Over the years, your organization has gained recognition for its commitment to developing the leadership skills of your members, providing networking opportunities, and engaging your members with philanthropic works that bring about social change,' she said.

Duterte also said that the organization has helped the Office of the Vice President in responding to the needs of the people, especially during calamities.

The organization's involvement in several social causes is a testament to its dedication and social change, added the vice president.

'It's admirable how you so willingly pooled your resources to respond to certain issues and basic problems besetting underprivileged Filipinos like hunger and child malnutrition, poverty alleviation, homelessness, disaster preparedness and see, and even peace and order,' Duterte added.

Duterte also took her oath as member of the Davao Prime Builders Tagatugon Lady Eagles Club on the same day.
