BSP shows its 'callousness'

THE Merriam-Webster dictionary defines callous as 'feeling no emotion; feeling or showing no sympathy for others; hard-hearted.' According to some netizens, this adjective aptly describes the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Why is that so?

A two-year-old Facebook post of Nestlé Professional Philippines resurfaced recently and elicited negative comments and reactions from social media users. The Feb. 10, 2021 posting showed a picture of then-BSP governor Benjamin Diokno (now Finance secretary), together with executives from the Philippine Vending Corp., endorsing Starbucks coffee to the public.
