AFTER receiving a total of 33 film submissions from filmmakers and producers, the entries that will make up the 'Magic 8' for the first Summer Metro Manila Film Festival have been chosen.

They include 'Apag,' directed by Brillante Mendoza starring Coco Martin, Lito Lapid, Jaclyn Jose and Gladys Reyes; 'Singlebells,' directed by Fifth Solomon starring Aljur Abrenica, Alex Gonzaga and Angeline Quinto; 'About Us But Not About Us,' directed by Jun Robles Lana starring Romnick Sarmenta and Elijah Canlas; 'Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko,' directed by Joven Tan starring RK Bagatsing and Meg Imperial.
