Imus drew 14 points from Hero Austria while Kim Malabunga put up a 12-hit performance as the AJAA Spikers repelled the Army Troopers, 25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 25-18, and stayed within striking distance of the unbeaten Cignal HD Spikers in the Spikers' Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena on Wednesday.
Austria also flashed his defensive prowess as he finished with 20 excellent receptions in a solid team-up with Rikko Marmeto, who had 13, while Ish Polvorosa anchored their offense with 18 excellent sets as the Cavite-based squad nailed its third straight win and improved to 5-1 to strengthen their semifinal drive.
