Beijing seeks role in ending Ukraine war

BEIJING: The foreign minister of China, which has provided strong political backing for Russia in its invasion of Ukraine, said on Tuesday his country wanted to play a part in ending the conflict.

Qin Gang told participants at a security conference in the Chinese capital Beijing that the East Asian country was concerned that the almost yearlong war could escalate further and spin 'out of control.'
