TUGUEGARAO CITY: The Cagayan Valley Regional Law Enforcement Council (Relec) has intensified its monitoring and surveillance operations against illegal forest activities particularly in "hot spot areas" in Region 2 (Cagayan Valley).

Relec Chairman Gwendolyn Bambalan has recently convened the council and underscored the importance of trees in ensuring the sustainability of all life forms and in mitigating global warming.
