House panel okays resolution for immediate RCEP deal ratification

A panel at the House of Representatives approved a resolution on Tuesday expressing support for the immediate ratification of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.

The Committee on Trade and Industry on Tuesday approved the resolution which said that by ratifying the agreement 'the Philippines can sooner benefit and take the advantages of this mega-trade deal that could attract more foreign investors, create more job opportunities, and curb the unemployment and poverty rates in the country'.
