Why did Kai Sotto skip Gilas stint?

We've all read the news. Kai Sotto will not play for Gilas Pilipinas in the sixth window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers to be held at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan next week.

One big reason why Sotto will not join the team when they need him the most is health. That's according to Sotto's camp. The announcement was made after the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) apparently gave him 'a very good offer,' according to Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes.
