FORMER Agriculture secretary and Federation of Free Farmers (FFF) Board Chairman Leonardo Montemayor on Thursday said that the target of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to achieve rice self-sufficiency in two years is "over ambitious," saying it is not feasible as the country's sufficiency level is only 80 percent.
"Two years might be a bit over ambitious. Well, it is a good goal but maybe it is not very... at this point, it' not very doable," Montemayor said in an interview with The Manila Times.
