Marcos OKs hybrid rice to boost crop yield

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved the wider adoption of hybrid rice as an alternative to the inbred variety to help boost local production of the crop.

Marcos recently met with SL Agritech Corp. (SLAC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Henry Lim Bon Liong, and farmers from Central Luzon to discuss the challenges in the country's rice industry.
