CAMP MELCHOR DELA CRUZ, Isabela: Two suspected members of the New People's Army were killed in a running gun battle with government forces in Barangay Sta. Margarita, Baggao, Cagayan on Monday, February 13, the military said.
Capt. Rigor Pamittan, 5th Infantry Division public affairs chief and information officer, said soldiers from the 17th Infantry Battalion (17IB) were patrolling in the forest areas of Barangay Santa Margarita when they encountered about 15 armed men who they suspect were members of communist Cagayan Provincial Committee-Regional Committee-Cagayan Valley.
