Marcos: PH close to rice self-sufficiency in 2 years

PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said the country would be close to achieving self-sufficiency in rice in two years with the major reorganization of government agencies involved in the efforts to ensure food security in the country.

Marcos made the statement following his meeting in Malacañang with the officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), who briefed him on the state of the country's irrigation system.
