Pakistan policemen nab 50 for lynching blasphemy suspect

LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan's police arrested more than four dozen suspects in the kidnapping and lynching of a man already detained on charges of blasphemy, officials said on Monday.

The mass arrest came two days after hundreds of enraged Muslims descended on a police station in the Nankana district of eastern Punjab province after they had been alerted that a man identified only as Waris desecrated a copy of Islam's holy book, the Quran.
