Phivolcs chief pushes earthquake awareness

THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday said Filipinos must be educated on earthquake hazards and survival in light of the devastation caused by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

'I think it's important to be aware how near you are from an active source of earthquakes, so from there, you may be able to understand what additional hazards may affect you,'
