THE government wants Japanese-owned manufacturing firms in the Philippines to expand their operations as increased exports would help grow the economy, the Trade department said on Thursday.
A call for expanded cooperation was made as President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Trade Secretary Alfredo Pascual met with Japanese businessmen earlier in the day, the department said in a statement.
